Location: Leicester

Salary: Up to 13 - 15 per hour

Shift: 7:30am - 4:30pm (Mon - Thurs) 7:30am - 12:30pm (Fri)

The MIG Welder Role:

Due to continued growth into new sectors and expansion of their largest contracts, the company is undergoing a recruitment drive of up to 15 new engineers, assigned exclusively to Optima UK.

As part of this planned growth, they are now looking to recruit a permanent MIG Welder on their day shift.

• The Position requires someone to MIG weld to a high quality and to work at speed ensuring targets are met.

• You will be able to work to high/tight tolerances and have experience working with mild steel.

• The position is based in the prototype department making one off parts.

The Candidate:

• Over 12 months experience as a Welder

• Read blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to plan layout and procedures

• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements

• Set up components for welding according to specifications knowledge of using measuring equipment to quality check work.

• Fettling and grinding sheet metal work.

• Quality check finished products.

• Record and report any issues.

• Manual handling of different tools to complete the job to the highest standards set.
