Mill Operative

Kinetic are recruiting for Mill Operatives for a Birmingham based client. Our client is a global, process driven manufacturing company, and a world leader in their Industry.
As a Mill Operative you will be contributing to the smooth running of the production process in a safe and efficient manner. In order to be successful in this position, you must be able to work 12 hour continental shifts, including days, nights and weekends.
The role:
* Working within a heavy manufacturing / production environment, operating machinery
* Using process control computers to monitor and problem solve
* Working with the production team in respect of production plan.
* Maintaining and developing transferable skills to be able to assist in all functions of the process
* Reporting to the production team leader in respect to production operation, problems, efficiencies, and safety
* Completing shift handovers with your colleagues to ensure issues are communicated and understood
* Using process knowledge, skill and procedures in the event of machine failure to ensure work is carried out in a safe and controlled manner
* Assisting maintenance personnel in the event of breakdowns and blockages to get back into operation as quickly and safely as possible
* Assisting the production during operations and machine shuts to maximise process efficiencies
* Adapting to changes in operating procedures and equipment
* Maintaining excellent housekeeping
Requirements:
* Experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing / production environment
* Experience of fault finding / problem solving
* Experience with process controls / distributed control systems
* Knowledge of Basic Lean Manufacturing quality controls
* Knowledge of workplace health and safety
* Ability to work under pressure
* Works well within a team and individually
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
* Flexible - able to work nights and weekends
