About The Role

The Mobile Fleet Mechanic role is hugely important to us. A role that requires travelling to our clients’ sites, you will be responsible for building great relationships with our partners and carrying out first class bike (and e-bike/cargo bike) repair and maintenance work.


The variety of this role is what sets it apart. You will be working across multiple different fleets, solving all types of problems, and will be in the unique position to become one of the most sought-after type type of bike mechanic - the e-bike expert. Opportunities for growth and progression are aplenty in this role.

This is a full-time role, with some weekend work required. Part-time applicants will be considered, please state clearly your availability during the interview process. ‍

In this role you will

  • Deliver top quality repairs and maintenance on bikes, e-bikes and cargo bikes
  • Be responsible for your own e-bike, using it to travel to and from our clients, occasionally travelling by fettle provided cargo bike (loaded with tools/equipment)
  • Liaise with customers to gain greater understanding of their bikes, spotting trends in the types of issues they face
  • Work both independently, and as part of a small team to deliver against targets
  • Help Fettle deliver and improve fantastic customer processes
  • You will be obsessed with providing a great service to our customers
  • Be comfortable using tech to log your work and provide feedback to the operations team on daily maintenance
  • Work to SLAs to ensure that you are delivering great work on time

Experience

The Non-Negotiable's...

  • You must have demonstrable knowledge of bike repair (equating to Cytech Level 2 or above, although you don’t necessarily need to have the qualification)
  • You will be a strong communicator, able to build great relationships with all types of people, across workshop and HQ level
  • You will have some knowledge of e-bike repair
  • You are flexible, proactive and positive! In this role you will need to be able to spin multiple plates at the same time
  • You are able to manage your time effectively and are naturally organised
  • You are a problem solver, able to pinpoint the cause of a wide range of issues, both big and small, with the tenacity to solve it
  • You love all things cycling, with a real passion for bikes, and a willingness to learn all there is to know about bike repairs and servicing
  • You have high levels of professional integrity with a strong sense of ownership
  • You are comfortable with working independently, but are also willing to be a team player; this person has got their team’s back
  • You are tech-savvy, and happy to adapt to changing systems and environments in a technological way
  • You are comfortable riding an e-bike (or are prepared to learn this skill!)
