About The Role
To create and maintain a quality standard to the agreed specification within set time limits within a specific area. Working with the area manager and alongside supervisors in ensuring agreed SLA's are met, Health and safety is monitored with issues reported and actioned in a timely manner. The ability to be adaptive to any given situation and proactive to ensure tasks are completed to agreed timescales to agreed specifications thus allowing less of a reactive workforce.

You will be working Monday to Friday, 05:00 to 10:00, 25 hours per week, on a permanent, part-time basis.

Key tasks & responsibilities:

  • Ensure that a quality service is provided at all times.
  • Adhere to company policies at all times.
  • Adhere to driving polies and laws.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle at all times, ensuring service and maintenance is carried out when instructed.
  • Work to a flexible schedule ensuring all tasks are completed within timeframes set.
  • Maintain health and safety standards.
  • Ensure personal appearance, including uniform, are of the highest standard at all times in line with company policy.
  • Be the eyes and ears of the management team when on site addressing health and safety concerns, raising any issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring operating standards are maintained on site
  • Ensure that you have received the necessary training so that you can competently carry out your duties and responsibilities.Acknowledge and accept a personal responsibility for safety.
  • Take responsibility for reviewing the safe system of work prior to the commencement of the work activity.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that plant and equipment is maintained and fit for purpose.

Qualifications, skills & experience:

  • Full UK driving licence

Working arrangements:

  • Where attendance targets have been breached, refer sickness cases for 1st formal meetings to the Deputy Cleaning Manager and to the Cleaning Manager for 2nd formal meetings
  • Maintain annual leave and sickness records, using electronic systems where available. Ensure reasons for sickness are recorded, and records are kept accurate
  • Management of cleaners annual leave requests, ensuring sufficient staff are available to maintain cleaning standards in line with departmental policies and procedures
  • Authorisation of timesheets/e-rostering system for cleaning staff, ensuring accurate information is submitted for payment.
  • Liaise with the Infection Prevention and Control team as necessary
  • Assist Cleaning Managers with the interviewing and selection of cleaning staff
  • Supervise contract cleaners when engaged by the Trust to assist with cleaning duties to ensure they meet required standards
  • Reporting equipment and maintenance requirements on the Estates helpdesk system (Shire) and follow up requests to conclusion
  • Actively participate in cleaning department meetings, ensuring that all action points are dealt with in an appropriate and timely manner
  • To contribute to service developments and to promote the cleaning functions to enhance the profile of the cleaning team
  • Completion of Datix reports for accidents and incidents within the department
  • Assist with cleans as and when required to meet the demands of the hospital
