Job description
- Performing MOT Tests: Conduct MOT tests on a wide range of vehicles including cars, motorcycles, vans, and light commercial vehicles. Follow DVSA guidelines and standards to assess vehicle safety, emissions, and overall roadworthiness.
- Identifying Defects: Identify and record any defects and issues that would cause a vehicle to fail its MOT test. This includes examining components such as brakes, suspension, lights, tires, steering, and exhaust systems.
- Documentation: Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner. This includes recording test results, defects found, and any advisory information for vehicle owners.
- Customer Interaction: Interact with vehicle owners, providing explanations of test results, advising on necessary repairs, and answering questions regarding the MOT process.
- Maintaining Equipment: Ensure all testing equipment is well-maintained, calibrated, and in proper working order. Report any faults or issues with equipment to management for prompt resolution.
- Compliance: Stay up-to-date with DVSA regulations, MOT testing procedures, and any changes in legislation related to vehicle safety standards. Maintain compliance with all legal requirements and standards.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain a high standard of accuracy and integrity in testing procedures to ensure fair and consistent assessments for all vehicles.
- Safety: Adhere to health and safety protocols in the workplace, particularly when handling tools, equipment, and vehicles.
