Job Purpose:

To design and deliver the simulation environments and models for the Vehicle Motion Controller, including Vehicle Dynamics and chassis systems, ensuring their integration with other software modules and other relevant vehicle systems.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop simulation environments to support SIL Motion Control Software testing for the next generation AML vehicles
• Develop simulation models for Vehicle Dynamics and chassis System including ECUs, to be integrated in the SIL environment
• Define the interfaces and interactions between all Software Modules and the Simulation Test Environment
• Ensure software deliverables are delivered in line with the system design specification.
• Define simulation strategy for the wider controls team
• Maintain environments and models for all future model year updates
• Support the definition of key software development strategies to allow AML to deliver competitive solutions
• Support the specification of SW / HW tools required for the development activity
• Support Functional Safety activities according to ISO26262 and Failure Mode Analysis as required
• Distribute knowledge within the wider team as required

Qualification & Experience:

• Experience with the Mathworks toolchain (e.g. Matlab, Simulink, Embedded Coder,...)
• Experience in Vehicle Dynamics and chassis components simulations modeling (including ECUs)
• Experience in developing simulation environments and integrating them for SIL testing
• Experience in defining interfaces across Software Modules and Simulation Test Environment
• Experience within an automotive vehicle manufacturer, supplier or consultancy, developing simulation environments and/or software for automotive systems
• Experience with Functional Safety (ISO2626) and Cybersecurity software processes
• Experience in system engineering, requirements and test cases definition for safety critical automotive Systems
• General understanding of vehicle controllers, systems and / or features, e.g. chassis and / or EV powertrain and / or ADAS
• Understanding of automotive homologation and legal / regulatory requirements and testing for chassis systems
• Project management and supplier management skills
• Familiarity with MS Office suite
• Experience in Embedded systems software development
• Educated to Degree level in Electrical / Software Engineering or related discipline
• Member of the IMechE, IET or similarly recognized international institution
