Job Description

Movement Analysis Applications Specialist / Codamotion Community Lead / Product Support and Engagement Lead / Product Specialist / Motion Capture Technology

Codamotion is a small family company that creates Movement Analysis technology. Our rich heritage has seen systems deployed on the International Space Station and used in neuroscience research, sports science, rehabilitation, and ergonomics. Our future is dedicated to the sustainable development of technology that benefits society.

We are seeking a new team member with a passion for Movement Analysis. You must possess comprehensive technical expertise to understand our customers' work and become intimate with and an advocate of Codamotion technology and its applications. You will engage their research questions, involve yourself in experimental design discussions and provide quotations, training, and ongoing technical support. You will ensure that the community of Codamotion users are heard and supported with genuine warmth, nurturing strong relationships, and using your skills to help them succeed and grow the community further.

You should be technically curious, engaged and involved. You will be happy with the balance of consistency and creativity, from administration to in-depth technical exploration, to very thoughtful communication design.

Responsibilities

  • Hungrily seek opportunities to use your expertise to translate Codamotion user needs into successful applications of the technology, throughout the Codamotion community.
  • Develop in-depth product knowledge, including trying out product updates before they reach the customer.
  • Maintain awareness of the themes and trends in biomechanics/motion analysis that may relate to the uptake of Codamotion products.
  • Work with your line manager to define and implement plans for effective, regular, and consistent external communications with the customer base and the wider Movement Analysis community.
  • Communicate effectively through a mix of in-person visits, workshops, video calls, telephone calls and email, as appropriate.
  • As part of agreed plans, prepare content to publicise the work that you are doing, so as to raise your profile and that of the company on the world stage. This may include articles on Codamotion and other websites, social media posts, and videos.
  • Deliver timely responses to customer and distributor questions regarding Codamotion software and hardware, redirecting to support materials where appropriate. This includes correspondence by email, telephone, and in person.
  • Keep detailed records in the company CRM system.
  • Train new customers and distributors to use Codamotion products.
  • Secure repeat income from customers in ways which meet their needs – through regular service contract renewals, paid training, product upgrades and repairs; produce quotations for these as required.
  • Support colleagues and distributors on sales trips by demonstrating the company’s products.

Location and Travel

An element of travelling is part of the role, and some trips will require overnight stays. Approximately 25% of the working time may be spent away from the office, including overseas trips. This may vary according to the needs of the business. When no travel is planned, you will be in our Oxford office for at least 3 working days per week. You will routinely spend time at our dedicated lab and manufacturing facilities in Rothley, Leicestershire.

Requirements

A postgraduate qualification in science or engineering, or evidence of close work with research communities.
