Multi Drop Delivery Driver

Structure:

We are an expanding cleaning supplies distributor business looking to recruit a new team member in our busy Bristol depot. You will be reporting directly to the Transport Manager

Major Responsibilities:

· Driving safely and efficiently

· Route planning to optimise efficiency.

· Loading and preparing vans for delivery

· Delivering orders and locating correct drop off points.

· Checking deliveries and tracking all delivery documentation

· Returning signed Delivery Notes and putting into the Warehouse System

· Liaising with Customers and satisfying their expectations for Delivery

· Reporting any incidents or personal changes which impact on driving or delivery.

· Carrying out the pickup and purchase of specialist stock as required

· Making purchases from Cash & Carry outlets on behalf of the Company– as specified.

· Following the detailed instructions for all Company Drivers laid down in the Patterson Handbook

· Carrying out weekly vehicle checks as specified and ensure relevant form is completed and given to the Transport Manager - and follow through on agreed remedial actions. Ensure the Vehicle is washed, cleaned and maintained on a weekly basis.

· Completing a daily mileage record and fuel receipts as necessary and give to the Transport Manager on a 4-weekly basis.

· Taking all reasonable care of own safety and others including following all safe systems of work and safety instructions and using personal protection (e.g. safety shoes) - given by the Company

· Providing service to trade customers who directly access stock from the Warehouse.

· Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.

· General warehouse duties including inputting data on the Company’s systems; putting away incoming stock; picking and marshalling orders; tidying; levelling down pallets; cleaning, sweeping and disposal of rubbish from the Warehouse.

Specifications / Skills:

Essential:

· Ability to drive and operate a delivery van safely and responsibly.

· Excellent team player

· Experience of multi-drop deliveries on 3.5 T van

· Desire to work and positive attitude

· Valid Driving License

· English, Maths

· Reliable

· Physical stamina and strength for heavy lifting and loading/unloading of products as also standing on your feet greater part of the day.

Desirable:

· Experience in busy warehouse environment

· Experience of working to deadlines

· Ideally worked as a Multi Drop van driver, driving a 3.5ton van.

· Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and best practices

· Understanding of health & safety in the workplace

· Friendly and professional manner when dealing with customers.

Provisions:
