We are currently looking for two Multi-Skilled Build Engineers to join our team in Shepshed, Leicestershire. These are multi-faceted roles encompassing the skills of both a mechanical fitter and an electrical engineer.
Day-to-day you will work on:
The mechanical assembly of machines and machine sub-assemblies.
The geometric alignments of machine tools and sub-assemblies with corrections as required, including performing laser calibration.
The wiring, power up and commissioning of our range of machines in the UK.
The diagnosis of fault conditions and rectification of minor discrepancies.
The setup, inspection and test of electrical and mechanical systems in a safe and controlled manner.
Installing and re-commissioning on customer’s sites both in the UK and abroad as required.
Applications related test work.
Maintaining records of tests and calibrations.
Interaction with customers, including training operators & maintenance staff
Working directly to schematic drawings to complete field wiring, terminating machine mounted equipment back to pre-assembled panels or self-built panels
Small gauge crimp and solder work plus cable routing and loom assembly
Wiring to and from PCBs and other electronic devices
Requirements
The successful candidates will be apprentice-trained (time served) or possess an HNC or equivalent. You will have a good knowledge of manufacturing methods including the assembly and alignments of linear and rotary mechanical systems. Geometric measurement and correction experience alongside laser calibration is highly desirable, as is experience of working to high tolerances from detailed assembly drawings. You will have some experience of PC or CNC control systems. We are looking for a willingness, flexibility and ability to travel worldwide from time to time. We only recruit team players so the ability to show this is a must.
