Job Details:
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, testing, and inspection of building, mechanical, and electrical services, along with associated systems, plant, and equipment, in adherence to relevant standards and operational protocols. Your role will involve participating in a rotating shift pattern and on-call roster to ensure uninterrupted service delivery, covering for absent colleagues when necessary, and adhering to strict safety protocols and company guidelines.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Execute planned maintenance tasks as per the PPM schedule, maintaining comprehensive records and completing service reports as required.
- Undertake installation work for minor upgrades and adaptations.
- Collaborate with other skilled trades in maintenance, repair, testing, inspection, and installation activities.
- Perform minor repairs to the building fabric to uphold premises safety and security, as instructed.
- Engage in continuous training to enhance and update skills relevant to the role and service requirements.
- Foster collaboration and cooperation with colleagues and partners to ensure a customer-focused service delivery approach.
- Provide necessary overtime support to maintain service continuity and oversee external provider works.
- Work closely with the Helpdesk to ensure timely and accurate closure of jobs raised on the Qfm system.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of company vehicles.
- Undertake any additional duties as required, aligning with the role's scope and responsibilities.
Person Specification:
- Possession of relevant qualifications/apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrable experience in repair, diagnosis, and maintenance/servicing of heating/plumbing systems, including handling breakdowns, servicing, and installations.
- Proficiency in following written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Ability to maintain comprehensive records of work performed.
- Availability to participate in on-call rota system.
- Proficient in using handheld devices/laptops.
- Willingness to provide support across roles to cover absences.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience working in educational or public buildings.
- Familiarity with Microsoft packages and practical knowledge of statutory compliance requirements.
- Capability to manage workload independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Possession of satisfactory DBS clearance at an enhanced level.
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and proactive with problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety protocols and possessing a full driving license.
- Familiarity with SFG20 and understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS).
