On call : 1 week in 3 with 24 hour flexibility required ( 20 per day on call rota)

We are a UK leading specialist galvanising manufacturer operating in 9 locations across the UK with a workforce of over 600 people. Due to expansion, we are looking for a Shift Manager to support the day-to-day function of the production floor.
As a Maintenance Engineer you will play a crucial role in overseeing and maintaining heavy plant equipment, including large cranes, motors, and inverter drives on a metal finishing site.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance on cranes, motors, and inverter drives to minimise downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and carry out effective repairs to minimize production interruptions.
- Collaborate with production and other departments to schedule maintenance activities in coordination with production schedules.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment status.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in an industrial setting, with a focus on cranes, motors, and inverter drives.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- 17th edition
- Familiarity with PLC systems and control panels.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
