P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our client, who is currently seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer to join their team based in Norwich on a full-time permanent basis.
Role Summary:
To ensure Norwich Plant machinery is in good working order and a safe condition to operate, ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Rapid breakdown rectification and investigation.
- Implementation of departmental maintenance programs and repair of equipment as planned or required.
- Implementing countermeasures to improve machinery performance within agreed time scales.
- Updating and improving site engineering documentation and data. Ensuring Accurate completion of maintenance related data entry for reporting purposes.
- Liaise with all departments as required, minimising disruption to production for maintenance.
- Engage in a ‘Right First Time’ culture that delivers best quality and efficiency consistently.
- Promote a workforce culture that supports personal responsibility.
- Active participation in improvement projects when required.
- All other tasks commensurate with the grade and skills, as may be directed by the Engineering Manager, or Norwich Site Manager, for which suitable training will be provided.
Education & Experience
- GCSE in Maths and English at Grade C or above or equivalent NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent.
- Mechanical Engineering knowledge of start-up, shut down and break down procedures.
- Fabrication and welding.
- Apprentice trained fitter/ machinist or mechanical engineer.
- Experience of working in a high-speed production environment.
- Minimum of 3 years post apprentice experience in a maintenance engineer’s position.
- Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance practices.
- Fault finding experience, including diagnostics and root cause analysis.
- Practical knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety.
Person Specification:
- A pro-active approach with a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Ability to work on own initiative or within the team with the skills to improvise solutions when necessary.
- Able to communicate at all levels written and verbal.
- Willingness to undertake further training as deemed appropriate, that will increase skill levels required to fulfil the position and personal development.
