To provide a comprehensive, timely and effective mechanical maintenance service to the Production Departments and the site. Through a computerised maintenance management, system (CMMS) the Engineering department maximises the availability of plant and machinery ensuring manufacturing operations are inherently safe, effective and efficient.
Role and Responsibilities- Promptly react to equipment failure, diagnosing faults and making good.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance routines to the given schedules.
- Identify reoccurring equipment failures; work with Engineering management to improve long-term reliability.
- Fault find on varied process equipment such as conveyors, bottle filling, mixing, material transfer systems and mixing equipment.
- Work on various fluid and pneumatic power systems, such as hydraulics power packs, compressors, vacuum pumps.
- Carry out maintenance and major overhaul of site process plant, including process mixing equipment.
- Have basic skills in general machine shop practices.
- Understand technical drawing.
- Site services maintenance - steam, air, water.
- Work to safe Engineering procedures and site safety rules.
- Carry out weekend maintenance cover when required, paid at over-time rates.
A nationally recognised Electrical time served apprenticeship minimum level 3 or equivalent.
Preferred Skills- Multi Skilled - 70/30 Mechanical/Electrical.
- Aptitude for process awareness, diagnostic and resolution.
- Experience in maintaining equipment located in potentially explosive atmospheres, knowledge of DSEAR, ATEX.
- Good written and verbal communication
