The Role:


An opportunity exists for a highly skilled and self motivated individual to become part of the Hovis Milling Team as a Multi Skilled Engineer, based at our Wellingborough site.


The role requires the individual to complete a number of routine planned maintenance activities as well as reactively attending any unplanned breakdown events.


The skills required cover all aspects of modern engineering including mechanical / electrial and first stage control systems capability.

The team also provide limited services for both remedial welding and fabrication activities.

The role forms part of a 6 person team that provides a proactive and reactive service with from a mixture of day related shift patterns.

Any out of hours service requirements from the team are covered on a rotational call out basis(1 in 3).


Being a modern pneumatic mill the key assests are:

  • pneumatic fans ,
  • multiple motor driven screw and drag chain conveyors ,
  • bucket elevators ,
  • rotary air locks ,
  • in line weighing devices ,
  • wheat cleaning machinery ,
  • compressed air systems,
  • sieving machines and integrated milling machines.


All plant is electrically powered from a standard MCC room and controlled by a modern Allen Bradley SCADA system.

The mill manufactuirng process is operated 158hrs a week with planned PMS stops of 8 hrs each line each week forming part of its operational model.


KNOWLEDGE & SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS


Essential

Multi-Skilled Engineering / electrical qualifications

Competent workshop technician

Core Electrical / Mechanical Qualification

Up to date Edition / Electrical Qualification

P.C. Skills

Knowledge of planned maintenance systems

P.L.C Diagnostics and Software modifications.

Maintenance of the P.L.C. network.


To be a good communicator, able to build effective relations internally at all levels.

Be a team player

To be flexible, willing and have a positive approach to changing circumstances.

To be able to manage own time effectively and establish priorities.

Receptive to new Training Skills.

To achieve operational goals to agreed targets (time , cost , quality)

Certification in a formal Health & Safety discipline.


Desirable


To have an IOSH safety qualification

Formal electrical / engineering qualifications

Formal process control support/ maintenance qualification (Scada/ Allan Bradley)

To have substantial knowledge of the Milling Production Operation.

To be environmentally aware and to put this knowledge into practice.

PAT testing certification


Candidates must have the right to work in the UK, without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

The starting salary for this role is £46,813

The role forms part of a 6 person team that provides a proactive and reactive service with from a mixture of day related shift patterns, the team coverout of hours on a rotational call out basis (1 week in every 3).
