About The Role
Overall Purpose of the Role
To ensure the safe operation, profitable and efficient of all services provided to the school. To ensure service delivery is compliant with legislative requirements, company procedures and customer requirements. To deliver an electrical and mechanical integrated service to the contract. Effectively managing all operational teams through effective recruitment, training and performance management. Ensuring efficient and effective service provision in line with agreed budgets and service specifications. Monitor and report on the quality and financial performance of the services within the scope of the contract. To deliver continuous service and cost improvements through identification, promotion and implementation innovative systems, processes, procedure and products.
Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role

  • Responsibility for ensuring due compliance to the contract specification and ensuring Helpdesk tasks are closed out on time.
  • Overall responsibility for quality performance on the contract with respect to the Maintenance, service which will include but is not limited to:
  • Maintain and monitor agreed quality systems, ensuring preventative and remedial actions are taken where necessary as laid down in the contract specification.
  • By daily personal inspection, ensure that the scope of contract is being correctly delivered and that service standards are maintained and improved, taking remedial action where necessary.
  • Ensure that the work schedules are regularly reviewed to ensure best value for money and efficient delivery of services to our client requirements.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance & quality of service delivery.
  • Monitor customer feedback and respond to customer comments.
  • Undertake any reasonable request as directed by the Senior OCS management team.
  • Ability to comprehend and adhere to health and safety regulations and standards
  • Ability to anticipate problems and quickly find solutions to them
  • Ability to analyze situations and provide prompt solutions to challenges
  • Ensure that equipment is in good working order so as to prevent disruption of activities
  • Ensure that all electrical gadgets and instruments are switched off after close of work daily and are maintained to the manufacturers specifications
  • Fix and maintain plant and equipment on site in line with SFG20 recommendations
  • Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and provide preventive maintenance services
  • Supervise electrical works when new projects are undertaken.
  • Ensure safety and safe systems of work are implemented and maintained at all times, during both maintenance or general operations
  • Review RAMS for contractors prior to carrying out maintenance on mechanical systems.
  • Undertake PPM's as issued from the CAFM system and ensure they are closed out within the prescribed timescale
  • Whilst carrying out the PPM activities, provide updates to the CAFM team in relation to the condition for each asset in order to inform the forward maintenance budget but also assist any lifecycle decisions which need to be taken to specific assets across the sites
  • Ensure the critical spares list is kept up-to-date and that all critical spares are always available and ready for deployment at all times. Some of these critical spares may be held at a local suppliers, others might be held on site, it is important all sources are regularly checked and that any warranty issues are addressed accordingly


Educational Level

  • To have 2 - 5 years mechanical/electrical experience in education/Commercial environment
  • 18th Edition electrical
  • Appointed Person LV desirable or willing to work towards

Professional Qualifications

  • NEBOSH/IOSH Certificate would be desirable however training will be given
  • Certification of Legionella Legislation / Responsible person.
  • Membership, appropriate trade qualifications and recognition.
  • IT Literate, MS Office/competent in the use of Excel, Power point.

Experience

  • Experience of working in an Education environment
  • Proven background in delivering a range of Maintenance (Mechanical & electrical) Services would be a pre-requisite.
  • Ability to interpret contract documentation.
  • Ability to translate formal documentation into working specifications.
  • Business development, retention and championing new and up to date initiatives are keys to success in this role.
  • Demonstrable track record of excellent client relationship management and customer-facing/partnering skills

Other Details

  • You will be required to adopt a flexible approach to working hours as and when required in the full performance of duties, including being on-call as and when required to respond to the client out of normal working hours.
  • You will be required to attend internal and external courses, which may require overnight stay.
  • Attend Managers meeting, that may require overnight stay.
