Key Responsibilities:
As a Shift Engineering Technician, your role will revolve around delivering world-class engineering excellence. Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Vision: Contributing to the delivery of the Engineering department's vision and strategic plan. Develop a strategy for energy, equipment, and maintenance that aligns with our site's development and progression, in line with the client Work System (CWS).
- Performance Culture: Creating a culture of strong performance within the team, promoting personal development and achieving business objectives.
- Collaboration: Partnering with the production core teams to improve key business results and foster a professional manufacturing team culture.
- Cost-Effective Results: Developing, implementing, and delivering a robust strategy for mechanical, electrical, and engineering budgets to ensure cost-effective results.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying and acting on opportunities for improvements within the engineering environment, cultivating a culture of continuous improvement.
- Training: Identifying training needs for operators where necessary.
- Safety: Adhering to and supporting factory-wide systems for compliance with company policies and statutory regulations for health, safety, and the environment.
- Capital Projects: Collaborating with relevant departments to plan and support all capital engineering projects, ensuring successful completion within cost, quality, and time targets.
- Team Building: Demonstrating a proactive approach and building credibility quickly within the peer group, maintaining and raising the credibility of the engineering department. Promoting the highest standards of engineering excellence through coaching, training, and team development.
Qualifications and Skills:
Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Engineering Expertise: Demonstrable multiskilled (electrical and mechanical) engineering and maintenance experience in a target-driven manufacturing environment, measured by robust Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Maintenance Proficiency: Extensive experience in completing planned and preventative maintenance schedules, as well as providing breakdown maintenance across production lines and support processes
- Safety Focus: HACCP knowledge with a strong understanding of specific Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.
- Safety Systems: Extensive experience with Safety Systems, managing work for internal resources and external contractors, using Isolation/Lock-off procedures, Risk assessments, and Permits to Work.
- Production Line Experience: Considerable experience in maintaining production lines, preferably in an FMCG environment.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- IT Literacy: Proficiency in Word and Excel.
- Positive Attitude: A 'can do' attitude and a willingness to live and breathe our company values.
