The Company
Our client has recently been awarded a 7-year contract for the maintenance and improvement of the Defence Built Estate, to include in excess of 20,000 assets.
They are a new business, formed to deliver infrastructure, asset, and facilities management services into the UK Defence Sector. They are a 50:50 Joint Venture between 2 already established big players in the FM and Utilities markets with over 55 years' experience.
They are committed to enabling Defence capability through maintaining and enhancing the built estate in which our Armed Forces live, work and train.
The role
We are seeking a talented Multi-Skilled Operative to join our clients dynamic team based in Plymouth.
We are looking for someone who enjoys variety in their workload and who wants to lend a hand to a variety of trades and skills. Your day-to-day tasks can include anything from legionella flushing, inspections, systems testing, painting, minor maintenance tasks and offering support and value to other teams.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Multi-Skilled Operative, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the following:
- Planned Maintenance to comply with MOD SFG 20
- Performing planned and reactive maintenance tasks, demonstrating your diverse skill set.
- Handling tasks such as redecoration, lock changes, and noticeboard installations to deliver high-quality billable works.
- Managing equipment and material requirements, ordering them, and coordinating access for efficient task completion.
- Conducting surveys and gathering data, compiling essential documentation to aid decision-making.
- Providing escorting duties to enhance the overall experience.
- Assisting with Assurance checks to ensure quality and compliance.
- Supporting the Built Estate Manager in successfully delivering the contract and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Could this be for you?
- Practical qualifications such as C&G's or BTECs, demonstrating your technical expertise.
- Experience in planned maintenance, response maintenance, and small project delivery.
- Membership in a relevant professional body (desirable).
- Availability for occasional out-of-hours work and site attendance.
