Hull with UK-wide travel and overnight stays

£38,430 per annum / £18.26 per hour with additional allowances (£50k potential)

Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pm

I'm currently looking for a mechanically biased multi-skilled engineer to join the servicing and installations team for a client based in Hull, who provide high quality engineering solutions to the industrial markets.

The main focus of this role will be machinery & equipment installations, breakdowns and servicing across various client sites around the UK, with some opportunity to work overseas. There is also the scope to work in several different sectors and on various different equipment on a consistent basis.

Due to the nature of upcoming contracts and works required, you will likely be working away from home Monday to Friday and home for weekends. More info below on working away.

LIST OF DUTIES (non-exhaustive):

• Attend service, breakdowns, repairs, installation, planned / reactive maintenance or any other site work as directed
• Lead / project manage site work on bigger site installations
• Identify and resolve safety concerns on machinery
• Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings
• Dismantling and overhauling machinery assemblies
• Be part of an out of office technical support rota, which will include call-outs from time to time
• Be available to work weekends, late nights, early mornings as required
• Willing to work on a mixture of jobs and machinery including shredders

REQUIREMENTS:

• Mechanically qualified or have relevant industrial engineering experience
• Background of mechanical fitting
• Knowledge and experience on hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Hardworking and willing to work long hours if needed
• Strong appreciation for health and safety procedure, ability to remain vigilant to risks and hazards
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to self-motivate and work independently as well as in teams
• Full valid UK driving licence. Points may be considered dependent on their nature

THE CONTRACT:

• 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm but flexibility in working hours where applicable/possible
• Salaried at £38,430 per annum (£18.26/hr), with potential to earn over £50,000 per annum due to additional allowances and rates
• Overtime paid at normal rate mid-week, 1.5x on Saturdays and 2x on Sundays and Bank Holidays, or time off in lieu if agreed in advance
• Flexible £30/day food allowance while working away.
• £10/night extra for away stays of 3 days or more, paid upon return from jobs.
