The role
As a Multi Skilled Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll conduct electrical, data, fibre and mechanical installation tasks and maintenance activities.

Day to day, you’ll:

• Work under the direction of a Team Leader or Project Manager and provide installation, as required, for electrical, data, fibre, mechanical and communication equipment at customer locations
• Deliver work to the highest standard, on time and to budget whilst working to the appropriate standards
• Assist the Installation Team Leader to ensure that all installation related documentation is completed accurately and capable of submission to the customer for approval. This can be prior to undertaking any installation activities including method statements and risk assessments through to task completion test certification and input to operation and maintenance manuals
• Ensure that appropriate engineering standards, as dictated by Babcock standards, customer standards or professional bodies, are employed in all installation activities
• Ensure you work in a safe and efficient manner at all times to produce quality assured products

This role is full-time, 37-hours per week and will be based onsite at our Ashchurch site. There is a requirement to travel within the UK and overseas as part of the role.

Essential experience of the Multi-Skilled Technician:

• Exposure to mechanical and electrical discipline as a technician
• UK Driving licence

Qualifications for the Multi-Skilled Technician:

• Time served electrical apprenticeship

or

• Expertise in electrical installations with City & Guilds certifications in both parts 1 and 2
• Certificates in inspection and testing of electrical installations at levels 2391/2394/2395 and 2392
• Practical experience in electrical installations, documented through a basic record of proven ability
• Skilled in Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) with a City & Guilds 2377-22 certification
• Proficiency in structural cabling installation and testing (City & Guilds 3466)
• Basic capabilities in fibre optic installation, splicing, and testing, along with Cat 5/5e and Cat 6 installations, termination, and testing

Please note that this position is subject to enhanced national security vetting. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this may include obtaining SC, NNPPI or Developed Vetting (DV) level of security clearances).
