Music HLTA

Music specialist HLTA required to work at a fantastic, welcoming primary school judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted. This position will commence in September and it will be a long-term role working 4-5 days a week on a long-term to permanent basis. The position in based in South Leeds, near Morley.

We are looking for a qualified, passionate and enthusiastic Music specialist to work on a long-term – permane3nt contract at an amazing school near Morley, commencing September on a long-term basis. You must have relevant qualifications/experience in Music and working as a HLTA or similar.

This is a perfect opportunity if you are looking for greater flexibility and an enjoyable work life balance, whilst still being part of a rewarding work environment. You will be supporting pupils across EYFS – KS2 to plan and deliver inspiring lessons in Music. This position could be perfect if you are a retired teacher looking for some PPA cover in your specialist area OR are looking to gain experience in primary schools as a secondary specialist. There will also be an opportunity to lead and manage extra-curricular music activities and after school clubs.

Teachers and HLTAs of all experience levels will be considered for the role, including ECTs. We will also consider applicants with music experience working outside of schools i.e. music directors and tutors.

To be considered for the Music HLTA role you ideally should have:

  • A recognised teaching qualification, PGCE or equivalent (QTS)
  • A recognised HLTA qualification or experience working in this capacity
  • The ability to quickly build positive relationships with both staff and students.
  • Strong subject knowledge of music and a relevant qualification in music.
  • A genuine passion and interest for teaching and learning.
  • Ability to demonstrate outstanding classroom practice.
  • Ability to create a positive and creative classroom culture.
  • A nurturing yet firm and fair approach to teaching, good behaviour management.
  • Willingness to work on 4-5 days per week basis and commitment to the planning and delivery of lessons.
