Music Production Lecturer

Music Lecturer at Newcastle CollegeWe are looking for a passionate and qualified Music lecturer to join the team and teach various aspects of music to students.Key Responsibilities- Preparing and delivering lectures, seminars, and workshops on various aspects of music, such as theory, history, performance, composition, technology, and management.- Developing and updating course materials and assessments in line with the curriculum and quality standards.- Providing feedback and support to students on their musical progress and career aspirations.- Conducting research and publishing scholarly articles and books in the field of music.- Participating in academic and administrative activities, such as course development, student recruitment, staff meetings, and quality assurance.- Collaborating with other lecturers, tutors, and industry partners to enhance the learning experience and employability of our students.Essential Requirements- A master's degree or higher in music or a related discipline.- A teaching qualification or relevant teaching experience in music or a related subject.- A proven track record of excellence in music performance, research, and/or professional practice.- A broad and up-to-date knowledge of music and its various genres, styles, and contexts.- A commitment to diversity and inclusion in music education and the ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities.- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Desirable Attributes- A PhD or equivalent in music or a related discipline.- Experience of working in the music industry.- Experience of using music technology and software, such as Logic Pro, Ableton Live, or Sibelius.Benefits- A competitive salary and pension scheme.- A generous annual leave entitlement and flexible working arrangements.- A range of staff development and training opportunities.
