Music Senior Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £25,594 - £28,876 per annum pro rata (depending on experience)
Hours: Part Time 22.5 hours per week
We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and resilient individual with the skills to use music as an effective therapeutic activity; delivering a robust and meaningful programme across a variety of clinical areas. You need to be effective in working autonomously, communicating with a wide range of people and motivated to support the development of the Occupational Therapy Team. You will be delivering music interventions guided by Occupational Therapy theory and principles; working with people with complex needs whereby interventions are personalised to promote health, wellbeing and Occupational Therapy outcomes.
St Andrew’s Birmingham is a 118 bedded adult mental healthcare facility comprises of eight units that cover medium and low security for both Men and Women. Located in Stirchley, a vibrant area in South Birmingham, easily accessible by road networks and public transport.
We are very proud that our Birmingham hospital is rated ‘Good’ overall by the Care Quality Commission and ‘Outstanding’ in responsiveness. We are also part of a wider healthcare provider collaborative, REACHOUT, working in association with two other NHS Trusts in the West Midlands.
The Person and Role
You would be joining a highly motivated, knowledgeable and innovative team of practitioners, and be taking responsibility for organising and delivering music interventions. Versatility, initiative and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, with the ability to develop good professional relationships with individuals in our care and members of the ward teams.
