Roles and Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain, install construct, diagnose and repair a variety of machine tools and equipment including complicated electronic/electrical systems and data handling equipment.
Tear down and reassemble damaged or defective units.
May repair worn or damaged parts and reassemble, and perform some machining on replacement parts.
Plans and layout work as necessary.
Working with a minimum of supervision, is able to perform difficult work in maintaining plant properties such as buildings, machinery and equipment, etc. where moderate skill in more than one trade is required.
Work with contractors in the planning and installation of new wiring, the installation and/or rearrangement of machinery or equipment.
Work with contractors, vendors, landlord and machine tool builders for repair/maintenance work on machines, facility equipment and physical plant.
Perform purchasing with procurement card and justify monthly statement.
May supervise and/or train one or more subordinates.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Machining experience
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Background in electrical repair
Must have acquired sufficient training and experience in one or more of the maintenance trades to perform the class of work ordinarily required of a journeyman in these trades
Must be able to operate (safely) basic machine tools; i.e., drill press, mill, surface grinder
Must be available to work second shift 3pm-11pm (Train on 1st shift)
