Job description


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Specialist Nurse for Looked after Children and Care Leavers. This is a fixed term contract until 31.03.25.
The post holder will act as the Specialist Nurse to support the Trust in meeting its statutory responsibilities for Looked after Children within Bolton's Integrated Health and Wellbeing 0-19/25 Service.
This will include having some caseload responsibility as well as leading practice development across the service and supporting Operational managers and service leads.
We are looking for a motivated practitioner who is able to support the Trust in providing and enhancing services to Looked after Children and Care Leavers.
As part of this specialist and varied role, the successful applicant will be responsible for working closely with staff and services across the Trust to support them in provision to Looked after Children, promoting best practice, as well as working closely with external agencies to build and maintain positive working relationships.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating the health needs of Looked after Children and Care Leavers within their own caseload. The role involves offering specialist advice, guidance, support and supervision to staff and managers in relation to Looked after Children. The successful candidate will contribute to the work of the wider safeguarding and Looked after team including delivery of training, practice development, audit and quality assurance processes. The role is diverse and will provide the post holder with a wealth of experience in working with Looked after Children and Care Leavers.
