How you can make your mark

Make your mark as Nautical/Marine Superintendent for the Boskalis Offshore Energy Fleet Management Department in Aberdeen! This role will enable you to represent the company and support our vessels on all nautical aspects. You will be actively supporting the vessel to comply with the various safety and compliance requirements from a nautical perspective as well. You will be conducting navigational audits, trainings and help develop further the nautical skills of our crew. The ability to communicate and engage with various internal and external stakeholders is considered of major importance to achieve the full potential of this role. Your nautical skills of maritime operational standards shall allow you to both implement existing and upcoming regulatory requirements and identify further opportunities and implement improvements.


Your responsibilities as Nautical/Marine Superintendent:

•    Active and hands-on support to the vessels to achieve compliance with (inter)national and market requirements in accordance with the Fleet Management System Offshore and to achieve high performance and efficiency in accordance with the performance indicators.
•    Supporting during external audits and inspections. Guiding the vessels and fleet teams to “close the loop” as part of findings identified during audits/inspections, incidents and lessons learned sessions follow up. 
•    Conduction of navigational assessments. 
•    Monitoring and helping develop further the nautical skills of the crew including their skillset on emergency preparedness and response. Conduction of various shipboard trainings developed as part of our NINA safety behavioral program.
•    Assisting the vessels to implement and improve further the vessel specific documentation.
•    Supporting the related Fleet Teams and other relevant Business Units on nautical matters and coordinating between them where required and during all phases of project preparation and execution.
•    Reporting on vessels’ performance and providing management information


You can make your mark as a Nautical/Marine Superintendent if you have:

•    A diploma in Nautical/Marine Studies, CoC II/2; Master and Chief Mate on ships of 500 GT or more
•    Extensive sea-time experience and exposure & thorough knowledge of maritime operational processes and standards, including Diving Support Vessel activities.
•    A good command of written and spoken English.
•    Willingness to travel frequently including but not limited to regular vessel visits and monthly trips to Papendrecht Headquarters.
