Job description

Single Homeless Project has a new opportunity for a Navigator (Male) to join and work in our team based in Hackney. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis working varied hours 37.5 hours and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of GBP28,897.95 rising incrementally to GBP31,646.66 per annum.

About the Navigator (Male) role:
The Finsbury Project is a complex needs service. We provide support to entrenched rough sleepers and those who have an identified need relating to physical health, mental health, learning difficulties, substance use and risk of offending.
You will be part of a team providing an effective, high quality support service to address the presenting needs of the clients who have come from a rough sleeping background with vulnerable needs and possible disadvantages. Such needs can include substance misuse, mental health, and a wide variety of associated issues ( including: street activity, offending, physical health, background of complex trauma.) You will be required to have a commitment to working collaboratively within a harm minimisation and strengths/recovery framework. Some clients will require advocacy and direct support in relation to social care and health services. The project is supported 24 hours a day and are staffed by Night Concierge and Support Workers. You will work on a shift pattern. The aim is to improve outcomes for clients within the service, have regular key work sessions and enhance their ability to make use of external community and statutory resources. For genuine occupational requirement reasons, we are seeking male applicants only for this post (exemption under the Equality Act 2010; Schedule 9 Part 1).
Skills and experience we're looking for in our Navigator (Male):
A flexible, resilient, thoughtful, therapeutic approach to working with clients with complex needs. Experience and understanding of the issues involved in working in an accommodation setting. Ability to be self motivating , work under pressure and manage time effectively , prioritising different areas of work according to need. Strong networking skills and a proven track record of building positive relationships with internal and external stake holders. You must also be enthusiastic about working with often chaotic hard to engage and slow to change clients.? You must be innovative in your approach & working practices.
