Salary: NegotiableHours: Monday to Thursday, 7 AM - 5 PM; Friday, 7 AM - 1 PMTransport: Own transport recommended due to locationJob Overview:Shorterm are seeking a qualified and skilled NDT Inspector (Level II) to join our team. This role involves setting up and calibrating equipment, interpreting and evaluating results in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and specifications, and providing on-the-job training and guidance. The ideal candidate should be adept in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) with a particular focus on Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI).Key Responsibilities:Set up and calibrate non-destructive testing equipment.Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities using NDT methods.Establish inspection techniques and adhere to safety regulations.Apply testing criteria per applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.Organize and report test results.Perform specialized inspections and possibly mentor or supervise others.Liaise daily with clients regarding work priorities and project progress.Participate in client programs, planning, strategy sessions, and safety initiatives.Work closely with clients to identify and overcome obstacles.Engage in incident investigations and maintain a safe work environment.Continuously update and apply relevant knowledge.Mentor trainees/apprentices as needed.Support all relevant 5S activities and report any near misses.Follow working instructions/process plans/drawings.Ensure proper waste disposal and report any job issues to the line manager.Adhere to the company's Health, Safety & Environmental policies.Qualifications/Education Required:Essential: Previous experience in NDT (MPI).Desirable: GCSE in Maths and English.Basic understanding of NDT principles.Preferable: NDT Level II Certification.Willingness to pursue ongoing education and training in NDT technology.Shorterm is an equal opportunity employer committed to promoting diversity.
