As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with expertise in Draytek equipment, and preferably with experience in Cisco and Aruba technologies.

Position Overview:

As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure for our clients. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our clients' networks, both on-site and at various client locations across Hampshire, Dorset, and Wiltshire.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Designing, configuring, and deploying network solutions based on client requirements, with a focus on Draytek equipment.

2. Providing technical expertise and support for Cisco and Aruba networking equipment, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.

3. Performing network assessments, audits, and health checks to identify and address potential issues or vulnerabilities.

4. Collaborating with clients and internal teams to develop network architecture designs and solutions that align with business objectives.

5. Conducting site surveys and assessments to evaluate existing network infrastructure and recommend improvements or upgrades.

6. Troubleshooting network issues and providing timely resolution to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.

7. Documenting network configurations, procedures, and best practices to maintain accurate records and facilitate knowledge sharing.

8. Assisting in the planning and execution of network upgrades, migrations, and expansions as needed.

9. Keeping abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions that enhance network capabilities and security.

10. Providing training and knowledge transfer to clients and internal staff as required.

Qualifications:

- Experience in Network Engineering roles, with a focus on Draytek equipment.

- Minimum of 2 years in an infrastructure environment obligatory.

- Hands-on experience with Cisco and Aruba networking technologies preferred.

- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), and network security principles.

- Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SNMP, Wireshark, SolarWinds).

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.

- Effective communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal teams.

- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CWNA are a plus.

Travel Requirements:

This position requires regular travel to client sites across Hampshire, Dorset, and Wiltshire, as well as occasional travel to other locations within the Southwest region. A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation are essential.
