Infrastructure Network Engineer – Hybrid

Harvey Nash are working with a well-known client of ours, a growing housing association operating across the North West. Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Infrastructure professionals to come in with an eagerness to get stuck in and support with the provision of IT services across the organisation. With lots of investment into their IT function currently, this role offers great opportunity for instant impact on the direction of the organisations infrastructure.

The role:

• Manage cloud-based systems such as Azure and Office 365, as well as on-premises VMware vSphere.
• Managing and contributing to developing Network Infrastructure.
• Take ownership of system issues escalated from the service desk.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and the project management team to deliver new applications and system projects.
• Proactively develop system improvements and resiliency.
• Work within the organisation’s security framework to enhance security and mitigate risks.
• Contribute to and develop cloud-first strategy for key business functions.
• Drive continuous system improvements across the infrastructure, including networking refresh (SD-WAN), Teams Telephony, Intune, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Azure AD.

The candidate:

• Completion of a degree or equivalent experience demonstrating graduate-level ability.
• Hands-on experience with technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 2016 to 2022, Microsoft Exchange, Exchange Online, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint Online.
• Familiarity with tools like CrowdStrike, Netskope, Mimecast, and Veeam.
• Strong diagnostic skills using tools like PowerShell and Wireshark.
• Understanding and experience with networking components, including DNS, DHCP, Network Switches, Firewalls (preferably FortiGate), and WAN connectivity using VPNs, SD-WAN, and ZTNA.
