Job description

Are you passionate about Network Infrastructure, Cloud Technology, and delivering excellent technical solutions? Do you enjoy working with people and providing top-tier technical support? Do you love collaborating with a team and contributing your expertise in network architecture, cloud solutions, and infrastructure management to a worthy cause? We have a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to support, manage, and optimise our network, infrastructure, and cloud environments, enabling Barnardo's Digital Strategy.

You will be working within the Operating Technology team as a Network, Infrastructure, and Cloud Architect and will be primarily responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the cloud infrastructure that supports our organization's operations. This includes a focus on Microsoft Azure, AWS, and hybrid cloud environments. You will ensure that our infrastructure is scalable, secure, and efficient, supporting applications such as Dynamics 365, PowerBI, Azure, SharePoint, and other critical business systems. Experience with collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams and SharePoint is essential.

This role will be key in driving the development, management, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure while ensuring that business-as-usual activities are not adversely impacted, so staff around the organization can carry out their work effectively to support children, families, and stakeholders. This is a new post within the Operating Technology team of Integrated Business Services, and your exceptional technical expertise will be pivotal in ensuring our systems are robust, resilient, and deliver a seamless user experience.

We are a user-focused organisation, and you will have the opportunity to work with highly skilled technical colleagues and third-party partners and suppliers, as well as with our stakeholders by understanding technical requirements and translating them into business and technology solutions. Additionally, political astuteness, a customer-centric service ethic, commitment to quality delivery, and an open, engaging, "can do" style is essential.

It is a fantastic opportunity for career development by leading and supporting our enterprise infrastructure projects and developing key technical skills in the latest emerging cloud-based technologies.

Barnardo's believes in creating equality of opportunity in the workplace and supporting people to manage their work-life balance; we are therefore open to offering flexible working. This role is home-based, and all Barnardo's staff have the flexibility to work from anywhere. There may occasionally be a requirement to travel to support your team in larger projects or rollouts.

Barnardo's is committed to having a diverse and inclusive workforce for staff and volunteers. We welcome applications from women, ethnic minority groups, LGBTQA+ candidates, candidates with both visible and non-visible disabilities, and neurodivergent candidates, as people under-represented in our sector. We believe it is really important to gather the widest range of views so that we can design and deliver the next generation of products and services for children, families, supporters, and staff.

If you would like to use your talent to make a positive difference and develop your career, then we would like to hear from you!
