Job Title:Network Officer

Reports to: Network Manager / Commercial Manager

Location: Operating Company

Key Accountabilities

  • Finding solutions for service related issues and new initiatives and developments
  • Monitor service reliability and suggest solutions
  • Prepare timetables and documentation for services registrations
  • Ensure that schedules are created in line with registered services
  • Compile duties and rosters within both legal and locally agreed constraints
  • Negotiate changes with local trade union representatives
  • Implement changes in a timely manner
  • Maintain strong links with other internal stakeholders, encouraging their input to highlight problem areas and informing them of changes being made
  • Maintain strong links with the Commercial Analyst to assist with service changes affecting the ticketing systems
  • Ensure that all data exports are updated in a timely manner
  • Assist with the preparation of tender bids for submission
  • Other duties commensurate with the role as may be deemed appropriate by your line manager

Skills, Experience and Qualifications RequiredExcellent customer service focus

  • Ability to analyse and interpret data
  • Highly numerate
  • Experienced in scheduling duties and creating rosters
  • Financial understanding
  • Commercial awareness
  • Understanding of scheduling
  • Excellent communication skills
  • First class knowledge of the local network
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the road traffic act and driver hours' legislation
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Advocate of FirstGroup values and associated behaviours

Company Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all FirstGroup policies and procedures
  • Undertake any training and development activities at the request of the line manager

  • At all times, comply with your responsibilities within the Health and Safety Policy, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
  • Ensure that risk assessments are carried out for areas and activities under the role holder'scontrol, that appropriate control measures are implemented and the recommendations are communicated to all of those who may be at risk
  • Report incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences in a timely manner and ensure effective remedial action is taken
  • Promote and implement, where appropriate, safe working practices by means of campaigns, initiatives and to promote a positive attitude to safety through personal leadership
  • Support the Company's environmental campaigns and be aware of FirstGroup annual environmental targets
