As a Newly Qualified nurse you will be fully supported to become part of our professional community. As a newly registered nurse, our 12-month Preceptorship Programme will support your transition from a student nurse to a confident and professional registered nurse.
University Hospitals Bristol & Weston Trust (UHBW) is a major centre for teaching and research which delivers over 100 clinical services across ten different sites.

Next Steps
After successful allocation to a clinical area, new colleagues will attend a Trust induction. Your first few weeks on the ward will be supernumerary to allow for an easeful transition into your new team.
All locations offer a supernumerary period of at least 2 weeks with some areas routinely offering longer.

As a registered nurse, you will make a real difference to patients' lives. We pride ourselves on recruiting high calibre nurses who are compassionate, motivated and deliver the highest quality care.
You will be required to :

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs from admission to timely transfer or discharge.
• Work as part of the nursing team & MDT progressing to: • Either leading the team for a span of duty on a regular basis in a Ward or Department
• Or be responsible and accountable for the total patient care of a critically ill patient or group of patients

Act as professional role model/team leader setting standards of practice promoting clinical effectiveness and opportunities for teaching others as part of a 24hour service
