Job description

Wymondham | 2 x Temporary (2 years) | FF Control | £25,819-£34,415 per annum

Assess the situation, calm the caller, and provide life-saving advice. Lives may depend on these first critical minutes.

This is a very rewarding career which demands intense concentration. You will join a small, highly trained team that answer 999 emergency calls and mobilise the required number of fire service appliances and officers to a wide range of incidents. Capable of responding calmly and effectively to an emergency, you will use your excellent communication and keyboard skills in highly challenging situations. The ability to function a part of a close team is essential.

After comprehensive initial training, you will work a 42 hour week shift system, across 2 days and 2 nights, shifts will include weekends and public holidays. You will be required to pass an assessment centre, a medical assessment and must be at least 18 years of age.

Initial training will consist of a comprehensive 4-week induction course with an End Point Assessment. After successful completion, a period of supernumerary support and training on watch.
