Job description

A Vacancy at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.
Interviews are due to take place on 30th January 2024.
This role is a Fellow post (12 months) reporting to the Director of Medical Education (DME) and working closely with the UHCW Enhance Locality Lead.
The Enhance Programme is a postgraduate development offer which aims to ensure future healthcare leaders have the necessary generalist skills to support their local population and be able to work across healthcare settings in an integrated manner. The development and maintenance of generalist skills across all healthcare staff has been highlighted as key in the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan and is being implemented nationally via trailblazer sites.
The Enhance national syllabus promotes person-centred practice, complex multimorbidity, population health, system working, social justice and health equity, and environmental sustainability. The Midlands region is currently exploring integration of Enhance alongside Internal Medicine Training (IMT), with plans to expand to other cohorts of doctors and allied healthcare professionals.
This role is to support the implementation of Enhance locally at UHCW, and applicants do not require prior experience of the Enhance Programme. Whilst currently being piloted within medical training, we would encourage applicants from any specialty background.
N.B.We reserve the right to close a vacancy before the closing date if we receive a high volume of applications or if there has been a change in organisational priorities.
• To work with the DME to support the development of postgraduate doctors in training (PGDiT) to work within a future healthcare model that promotes interprofessional and cross-systems working.
• Establish close relationships and provide support to current trainees taking part in the Enhance Programme.
• Support integration of regional Enhance teaching sessions within the local teaching.
• Work to develop and support the network of contacts and placements associated with the Enhance Programme in UHCW and local community-based organisations.
• Support organisation and delivery of the Enhance pilot project’s community-based placementse.
• Use the national Enhance syllabus to frame local key objectives, shape training offers and align assessment materials to deliver the programme locally.
• Design promotional materials to widen awareness of the Enhance Programme locally and act as an informed point of contact for any enquiries about involvement with Enhance.
• Work at a regional level with the TPD for Enhance in the Midlands to support relevant regional events and establish close working relationships with other NHSE Midlands Fellows working on Enhance pilots across East and West Midlands.
• Act as an ambassador for the Enhance programme by promoting it at relevant local and regional events.
This is not a training post. We encourage applications from higher specialty trainees: permission for Out of Programme (OOP) will need to be obtained by those currently in training posts.
