Pay Rate: £17.99 per hour (assignment rate)

Contract: Locum, 3-Months

Shift Pattern: Normal full-time hours of duty are 37.5 hours per week, exclusive of meal times

Duties:

• Be primarily responsible for assisting Social Work managers in the provision of quality Social Work services to children and families
• Work within a Children’s Services Team and will undertake tasks allocated by the Social Work Team Manager to support Social Workers in the discharge of their duties
• Ensure continuing professional development through training, supervision and learning in line with NISCC registration requirements

Requirements of the Social Work Assistant:

• Demonstrate their commitment by their regular attendance and the efficient completion of all tasks allocated to them
• NVQ/QCF/RQF Level 3 in a care-related subject and 1 years' experience working in a social care role OR NVQ/QCF/RQF Level 2 in a care-related subject and 2 years’ experience working in a social care role OR 4 GCSEs (Grades A-C) and 3 years’ experience working in a social care role
• Be registered with the NISCC on the Social Care part of the register at the time of appointment or be eligible for immediate registration within a reasonable timescale prior to taking up post
• Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to use own initiative
• Be proficient with IT systems
• Effective organisational skills with an ability to prioritise own workload
• Ability to listen and respond appropriately and sensitively to the needs of service users
• Ability to identify problems and recommend appropriate solutions
• Ability to make use of and contribute to regular supervision
