NICHE Crime Classification Assistant

Grade E £25,713 – £29,874

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the Niche Classification Team in which you will be part of a busy team that reviews a wide variety of crime and complex cases. This will require a good knowledge of the Home Office Counting Rules (HOCR), good problem-solving skills, attention to detail and good computer skills to navigate your way around the crime system Niche. Training will be provided in regards to the home office counting rules so you can correctly classify crimes.

  • You will be part of a large team therefore it is important that you are a team player as well as being able to work independently. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with an attention to detail.

 

  • The team strives to validate crime in a timely manner in order for victims to get the support and assistance they require.

 

  • The Team is also responsible for closing crime records at the completion of investigation and applying the appropriate outcome. You will also provide support to police officers around the HOCR’s as well as the Knowledge Hub so they can provide analytical statistics on crimes.

 

  • We also work closely with Data, Quality and Review Team making sure all information inputted onto Niche is fully accurate.
