Job description

Working 4 days on 4 days off, based on 36 hours per week, hours are approximately 10 p.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Experience in care is essential, and working with homelessness is desirable.

The Role

As a Night Homeless Support Worker, you'll play a crucial frontline role in their Housing, Support, and Wellbeing Service. Reporting to the Registered Manager, you will actively contribute to a team-driven approach, working collaboratively to monitor the well-being of families placed within the services. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality support to families undergoing parenting assessments.

Exciting responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with colleagues and the scheme/registered manager to ensure the welfare of families.
  • Empowering families to achieve targeted expectations and complete fair assessments.
  • Promoting good parenting by supporting positive habits and behaviour changes.
  • Fostering independent living skills and enhancing parenting and childcare capabilities.
  • Recognising and addressing harmful behaviours and relationships.
  • Prioritising the welfare of children and parents.
  • Cultivating social skills, self-management, and improving the overall quality of life.
  • Enhancing health for both parents and their children.
  • Providing guidance on financial management and economic well-being.
  • Aiding in the reduction of offending behaviour.

Person Specification

  • Empathetic Listener: ability to listen, understand, and provide support to families, colleagues, and staff.
  • Safety Advocate: Understanding the importance of safety and security for parents and children.
  • Respectful Collaborator: Ability to work respectfully with families, colleagues, and other agencies, particularly during challenging times.
