Job description

Applications are invited for a permanent, full-time Night Security Officer working in Campus Services, Bangor University.
This is a responsible position; the post-holder will demonstrate a professional, mature and flexible outlook working as part of a team to provide the University with security services for its staff, students, visitors and premises.
The Night Security team works a 12-hour shift (4 day on / 4 day off rota), averaging a c.42-hour week over two weeks. The shift begins at 20:00 each evening. There can be opportunities for working overtime hours.
The work of the team is varied, from foot and vehicle patrols to fire alarm investigation, emergency response and initial incident management and escalation. The team covers the whole estate, including residential sites, and responds to First Aid requests, mental health situations and reacts to a range of routine issues such as room lockouts, noise complaints and issues around anti-social behaviour. Effective engagement with students is an important aspect of the role. An ability to receive, digest and relay information is vital. The efficient handover of data and intelligence is important. Information has to be properly logged and accurately recorded.
Candidates should have a minimum of 4 GCSEs or NVQ level I (or equivalent) in an appropriate subject or possess equivalent experience in a similar role.
The successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as possible.
This role is based on campus at Bangor.
The ability to speak Welsh (or a willingness to learn within a specified timeframe) is a requirement of this post.
