Type: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Seashell is a charity dedicated to providing a creative, happy, and secure environment for Children and young people with complex needs and additional communication challenges from across the UK. We have 17 purpose-built home-from-home, four bedroomed houses for children and young people who need residential support. We can provide 24-hour care, weekly and termly boarding, and 52-week placement for individuals aged 3-25 years. This opportunity is to support our Children who are aged between 4-19 years old. All our homes are based on our one site.

Our new Night Support Worker will support our Residential Care team for our Children and will work with shift leads/seniors and associated staff teams in promoting quality sleep for our Children; and when awake a safe, caring, and purposeful learning environment that will assist them to achieve their fullest potential.

About you…

The ideal candidate for this role is likely to be an experienced Support Worker looking for a new challenge within a friendly, development-focused team.

Some information about the role…

· Ability to support evening and morning routines and any care or support required through the night e.g. medication administration, personal care

· Typically shifts are 9:45pm – 7:45am

· General house keeping experience

· Challenging behaviours will present in these roles, so to fully support our children, candidates should be comfortable working in this type of environment

· Level 3 Health and Social Care (CCYP) - Level 5 Health & Social Care or equivalent (preferred but not essential)

· Good knowledge of CQC regulations and experience of implementing CQC Fundamental Quality Standards for Homes for young adults.

· Experience of working with young people with learning disabilities and complex needs.

· Experience of disability, mental health and autism spectrum conditions.

· Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to write and maintain reports and children / young people notes.

· Communicate effectively with parents/staff/other professionals.

· Flexible approach to work to work to work a day shift to meet with other operational staff.
