A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced and reliable Stores person to join our award winning client in the heart of Fife.

Hours of work are: 10pm to 6am, Sunday to Thursday NIGHT SHIFT.

Job Description and Specification

Key accountabilities and responsibilities:

  • To ensure that the stores and yard areas are always compliant with Health and Safety and Food safety legislation in line with the company-documented H&S and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Responsible for the unloading and loading of inbound and outbound pallets in a safe manner.
  • To ensure all goods required by production are distributed to the relevant production stores promptly and following the daily plan and relevant components lists.
  • To remove all goods no longer required by production and return them to the relevant warehouse store.
  • To maintain the SAP location of all pallets moved using the RDT equipment, maintaining SAP database accuracy and undertaking stocktaking tasks as directed by the warehouse and logistics management team.
  • To report all SAP and physical stock discrepancies immediately.
  • To maintain the warehouse stores and yard in a clean, tidy, and audit-ready state at all times.
  • Use all company equipment and plant safely and diligently, utilising all PPE and safety equipment provided in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the security of on-site stores and maintain on-site pest-proofing processes (i.e., close all store doors immediately, keep bait traps in position, ensure key safes are secure and combinations scrambled) and report any security pest issues immediately to the warehouse management team.

Goods in/goods out

  • To marshal all goods in / goods out traffic to the appropriate loading/unloading area.
  • Use Company forklifts to load/unload pallets from wagons safely in compliance with forklift-trained processes and procedures in a safe and timely manner.
  • Accurately complete the goods in inspection sheets (noting all batch, BBD, condition, and transport status information) and sign delivery notes before passing them to relevant team members for booking onto the SAP system.
  • Accurately complete the goods out stock transfer sheet (noting SAP container, SAP code, pallet quantity, batch, and BBD) before passing it to the relevant team member for processing through SAP.
  • To ensure that all goods in pallets are received in good condition and to alert the warehouse management team to any unsatisfactory items before receipt.

Line feed operations

  • Use the weekly plan and components lists to assess production requirements of raw materials (ambient, chilled, and frozen). Liaising with production team leaders/supervisors to understand time-sensitive issues and ensure that space is clear and available for pallet movements to occur.
  • To move correct products to and from the relevant production stores using company forklifts in full compliance with forklift-trained processes and procedures in a safe and timely manner.
  • To scan pallet movements using the RDT equipment accurately and consistently, maintaining SAP database accuracy and fully completing the manual pallet movement logs.
  • Report any SAP-related issues promptly to the warehouse management team.

Stock control

  • To undertake, as part of the warehouse team, full monthly stock-take processes as instructed by the warehouse management team.
  • To undertake perpetual inventory counts and ad hoc counts of products as instructed by the warehouse management team.
  • To report all stock errors/inaccuracies immediately and proactively maintain stock accuracy across the business.

Qualifications and Experience essential to be considered for the role:

  • Experience working within the food industry and a working knowledge of good manufacturing practices.
  • Forklift trained with current and valid forklift training certification.
  • Understands the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving.
  • Good H&S knowledge and application.
