North Devon Homes is a successful housing charity based in North Devon, with a turnover of £20 million and 3,400 homes. Our team makes a positive difference to over 10,000 customers across North Devon.
We are looking to recruit two Board Members who can bring real value and experience to our strategic leadership team. As a Board member, you will be jointly responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the Charity, and ensuring we remain focussed on our mission and values. We are looking for candidates with a good understanding of strategic business change, innovation and leadership, as we refine services in line with customer feedback and respond to the changing regulatory agenda. To complement the existing Board skill set, we are specifically looking for two exceptional professionals with either a relevant financial or property background.
Vacancy 1 - Financial
The successful candidate will bring to us at least one of the following skills and experiences: experience of working in housing association finance; experience of overseeing finances relating to commercial development; experience of working at a senior level in treasury management, the finance/banking sector or financial accounting; an understanding of strategic financial planning; also, an understanding of appropriate methods for mitigating financial risks.
Vacancy 2 – Property
The successful candidate will bring skills and expertise in one of the two following areas: property development and construction; or, asset management, property maintenance and property compliance. Experience of working for a housing association, or knowledge of the social housing sector and an understanding of the regulatory environment that associations operate within, would be desirable.

Our offices are located in Barnstaple, Devon and Board meetings are held via a mix of virtual and in person. The expected Time commitment is12-14 days per annum. The annual fee is £4,798 per annum.
