NRSWA Pre-Construction Supervisors.
West London (within the M4 Corridor).
£40,000-£45,000.
My client is a large multi-utilities contractor across the Power, Telecoms, Gas and Water sectors. They are now recruiting for two experienced and accredited NRSWA Pre-Construction Supervisors, they are looking for candidates ideally within the corridor of the M4, local to West London.
As a percentage around 75% of the pre-con role is site based and thus candidates need to have around 5 years site-based experience and be able to deal with 3rd parties confidently and ideally Traffic Management experience and liaising with councils.
MUST HAVE:
- Candidates need to be doing this role operationally for at least 5 years.
- Ideally EHV experience or HV with gas or water experience.
- Used to carrying out very deep excavation.
NRSWA (street works) Supervisory experience is paramount. Candidates need to not just have the units which cover signing, lighting and guarding but also reinstatement & backfill and ideally deep excavation.
Role Description:
Working in the Pre-Construction Department (Power) predominantly planning and designing cable routes, customer connections and managing feasibility studies/reports.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
Support and assist the multiple surveys/feasibility studies (number assigned will be subject to value, duration and complexity) and effective deployment of resources to ensure works are delivered incident free, in compliance with company policy and procedures, to programme and within budget. Continuous development of client and supply chain partner relationships and where identified implementation of cost-effective innovations to the business. The role will require and active involvement in supporting the pre-construction department and the tendering/estimation process in the preparation of both tender and construction programmes requiring liaison with Estimators and Surveyors to provide operational and technical support in the compilation of bids and feasibility studies.
General Duties:
• Assist in feasibility studies surveys/reports.
• Supporting the pre-construction/bid team at tender stage, providing them with route surveys, paving schedules and tender programmes.
• Ensure that all health safety quality and environmental requirements pertaining to the project are in place and monitored.
• Encourage the reporting of near misses.
• Promotion and implementation of SQE policies and procedures.
• Participation in delivery of site safety briefings and toolbox talks.
• Production of reports, presentations and drawings/designs as required.
• Preparing Job Packs from site surveys for preparation of private wayleaves documents.
• Cable pack design -Straight Line Diagrams, Public Infrastructure Access Documentation.
• Creating register of Special Engineering Difficulties (SEDs) and liaising with necessary Authorities to agree working methods and procedures.
• Support of Scope of Works Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
• Preparing, updating and inputting information to MS Project Reports.
• Assist in other aspects of the department necessary for the successful completion of a project.
• Liaison with Highways Authorities, clients and their clients, Utilities Representatives and internal colleagues.
• Compliance with all company Policies & Procedures.

• Work effectively as part of the Civils team, and attend and engage fully in Civils Team meetings.

• PC literate; fully conversant with standard Microsoft software to intermediate level.
Qualifications:
• NRSWA Desirable.
• CITB or equivalent in site safety management (SSSTS) desirable.
• CSCS Card for appropriate level of responsibility/competency.
• Minimum 2 years experience in utilities.
• HSG47 awareness.
• Competent in use of MS Word, MS Project, Excel and Office Outlook.• Full UK Driving License.
