The role
As a Procedure Engineer you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. The primary purpose of the Procedure Engineer and Planner role is to provide all the documentation required to support all the Nuclear Operations Production related activities and processes conducted. The Procedure Engineer and planner will ensure that all the control of work documentation is provided in time to meet project schedules, will support the development and management of a Safe System of Work.
Day to day, you'll support the MOD DNSAG with the necessary documentation to ensure safe storage of the Laid Up Submarines at Rosyth.
Duties also include:
Analyse the work lists and RDAR of all the Nuclear Operation Projects and subsequent variations against the requirements of the Rosyth nuclear safety management arrangements and safety cases to provide a listing of documentation required for the completion of each project.
Support the development of the project level 3 schedule.
Support the development of a detailed level 4/5 schedule to operational level aligned to the level 3 schedule.
Support Nuclear Operations in providing a procedure/test Index and integrated nuclear/test and commissioning plan with due regard to the principles of ALARP. This will include any commissioning and testing required to meet the project requirements.
Support the MOD DNSAG with the necessary documentation to ensure safe storage of the Laid Up Submarines at Rosyth.
Operate the waste control process and work lists in IFS.
Ensure that PAG members are kept informed of any changes to the projects.
Provide the status of Nuclear Procedures and ensuring completed Nuclear Procedures are reviewed, corrected as necessary and signed off by the PAG to meet key project milestones.
This role is a full time permanent role based at the Rosyth Dockyard.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. We are happy to consider flexible, blended working, including part-time, condensed hours, and job sharing.

Essential experience & qualifications of the Procedure Engineer:
A background in a construction/production trade is essential.
Operational and or production experience in Submarines at Rosyth is desirable but not essential.
Submarine systems and Nuclear Steam Raising Plant (NSRP) knowledge is desirable but not essential.
Competent knowledge/application of ERP toolsets e.g., IFS/SAP etc
Eligibility for SC Clearance and ITAR essential.
Agreement to work in areas which will expose individual to ionising radiation (radiation worker).
NIC or equivalent is desirable but not essential
ONC/HNC in Engineering or the relevant experience.
Have an awareness of Nuclear Safety, Nuclear Management Systems, Radiological Protection, disposal of radiological waste is desirable but not essential.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
