Summary:
The Chef is to organise, prepare and cook a healthy, balanced diet for children aged 3 months to 5 years in accordance with the nursery menus.
They will be responsible for providing freshly prepared meals
The successful candidate will have a passion for creating delicious dishes, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and have a proven track record of supporting and developing high-performing kitchen teams.
As you will be working within a school / educational institution – this position requires that you have an Enhanced DBS Certificate. (Formerly known as a Criminal records check). If you do not have a DBS Certificate, please inform us & we will assist you to obtain one.
Salary:
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 6pm all year round.

Main Duties:
Keep the kitchen a clean and safe environment, adhering to internal and external requirements. To include carrying out monthly risk assessments of the area.
To be responsible for ensuring that all crockery, cutlery and utensils are cleaned and stored appropriately.
Support with other nursery activities e.g. parent events, staff meetings
To prepare food for special occasions, e.g. Birthdays, Christmas and other festivals.
Ensure stock levels are suitably managed and recorded, in line with company procedure.
Work in partnership with the nursery team and parents, to encourage a healthy and nutritious diet.
Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety and safeguarding procedures and policies are always followed.
Work with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy and safe environment on a day-to-day basis
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience in a role in a school/nursery environment
Have Food Hygiene Level 3 (training can be provided)
Know about Food Hygiene Inspections and requirements
Have great communication skills, with both colleagues, children, and parents
