The School Effectiveness Team support over two hundred Early Years providers in Thurrock, to deliver funded early education to children up to 5 years old. The role of Nursery Education Funding Assistant requires good communication skills and a commitment to deliver excellent customer service, as an important part of the role entails responding to and supporting providers with pre-school education and childcare funding queries, as well as liaising with officers within the Local Authority and other key stakeholders (e.g. schools, Department for Education and other agencies).
This role requires:
- understanding and experience of early education funding and the Code of Practice for its delivery
- competency in the use of Microsoft Office and other Windows based software systems
- good communication skills, verbal & written, including the ability to use different methods according to service users' and professionals' differing needs.
- a basic level Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
The ideal applicant would:
- be educated to NVQ 3 or equivalent
- have experience of working in a financial setting and using systems to track and report data
- have excellent organisation skills and the ability to organise and prioritise own workload
- have excellent customer service skills
