Leasowes Extra Nursery has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nursery Lead Practitioner with a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification or higher, to commence as soon as possible.
Leasowes Extra was awarded an Outstanding judgement during their recent Ofsted inspection in April 2024. The Nursery is based on Leasowes Primary School site. Our impressive Early Years provision provides the foundations that encourage children to embrace a life-long love of learning, igniting curiosity and creating thinkers of the future. We strive for high-standards and develop strong values that enable children to thrive and reach their full potential.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Early Years Lead in school. We have a knowledgeable and dedicated team who get to know every child, planning bespoke experiences that link to lines of enquiry and children’s interests. Our children are nurtured so they become confident and independent learners who are able to foster good relationships.
At Leasowes Extra, we pride ourselves on creating a safe, inclusive and enjoyable place to play and learn. Our ambitious curriculum enables children to become confident communicators and powerful learners. We believe communication and language is fundamental to academic achievement; therefore, we use Makaton to support the development of spoken language, giving every child a voice. Our curriculum brings learning to life, making it purposeful so that skills are transferrable, as well as allowing children to be imaginative and creative through play. The Nursery lead will be responsible for effectively managing a small team of experienced Early Years practitioners and will have the skills, experience and motivation to plan and deliver creative activities that fully engage and stimulate children’s learning and development.
Our impressive outdoor provision and access to forest areas makes every opportunity a learning experience, with environments that enable all children to thrive. Through a range of opportunities linked to our themes, children are able to explore, become active learners and critical thinkers.
We wish to appoint a Lead Practitioner who is committed to providing the very best outcomes for children, who has the drive to continually improve and evolve their practice and go above and beyond to impact our setting.
In return we are offering a competitive salary, a contributory pension scheme and a wonderful newly refurbished nursery environment to work in.
Please see the attached job description and key criteria for details of the job role and responsibilities. It is essential that candidates wholeheartedly believe in and embrace our setting/school values, as they form the core foundations of everything we achieve at Leasowes.
We welcome potential candidates to come and visit the nursery and will be hosting a tour of the setting on Tuesday the 21st May at 10.00 a.m. Please contact Mrs Caven on the email below to express your interest in intending.
