Form of workWe are looking for a suitablty qualified and experienced registered nurse for an ongoing local authority contract.
As an Occupational Health Advisor, duties will include:
- Assist in the implementation of health screening and surveillance programmes
- Manage caseload of sickness absence/management referrals according to competence
- Deputise in the absence of the Senior Occupational Health Adviser as appropriate, and report to the Occupational Health and Safety Manager or Human Resources Managers/Advisers where required, to ensure an effective service is delivered at all times.
- Assist in the development of internal Occupational Health policies, procedures and guidance, so that service delivery and practice is continuously improved
- Participate in corporate health and wellbeing promotion campaigns, Occupational Health initiatives and training, to develop the competency and awareness of employees
- Provide professional Occupational Health advice to service users on identification, assessment and control of risk.
You will need to be a currently registered nurse with a recognised qualification in Occupational Health or willingness to study towards. along with substantial post registration clinical experience, experience in Occupational Health, working knowledge of the disability discrimination legislation within the Equality Act 2010 and experience of case management.
This role is due to increased work loads and will run initially until April 2024, with a view to extending the term from there.
