My client has a fantastic opportunity for a pro-active Occupational Health Advisorto come onboard and establish this newly created position to provide effective support and advice to improve the health and wellbeing of their workforce.
Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Health Advisor:
- Health Surveillance - Be accountable for and undertake routine health surveillance programs in relation to occupational hazards.
- Case Management Referrals - Manage complex cases and provide guidance on employee cases. (Fitness for work assessments, amended duties, phased returns to work, long term absences and persistent short term absence). Provide comprehensive, clinically reasoned and evidence based Occupational Health reports.
- Clinical Assessments - Conduct comprehensive and regular Occupational Health clinics and manage employee records.
- Absence Management & maintaining health records
- Health & Wellbeing Promotion - Implement health promotion initiatives and programs to enhance employee wellbeing.
- Review and develop Occupational Health policies and procedures.
- Analyse, evaluate and communicate trends and issues to the business and work towards achieving a reduction in employee absenteeism.
- Work collaboratively with all areas of the business and external healthcare services/specialists where necessary.
What you will need to succeed:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Health.
- Substantial OH knowledge including current/relevant legislation.
- Experience in health education and delivering health programs.
- IT literate - must be proficient in the use of MS Office applications.
- Clinical competence.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good planning and organisational skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Counselling and listening skills (desirable)
- Presentation skills (desirable)
Hours of work: 8.00am - 4.30pm (flexibility needed to cover all shifts within the business).
Hybrid Working: Four days on site and one day working from home.
Location: Ely
