Occupational Therapist
• Salary Range: Actual salary £15,781.22 – £26,748.00 (FTE £30,618.00 - £51,896.00) dependent on experience
• Location: Kidderminster, Worcestershire
• Job Type: Part-time (24 hours per week, 3 days), Term time only
Reed is excited to offer a unique opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join the multi-disciplinary team at a new ASC/SEMH school in Kidderminster. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional who is passionate about providing exceptional care and education for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
Day-to-day of the role:
• Provide a high standard of occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children and young people.
• Offer advice and training to parents, carers, and professionals in line with proposed treatment plans.
• Manage a caseload of children with complex needs, including autistic spectrum conditions, sensory needs, and attachment difficulties.
• Undertake autonomous assessments and formulate individualised treatment plans using clinical reasoning skills.
• Support the development and care plans of individuals, focusing on activities of daily living, self-care, productivity, and leisure.
• Evaluate and review occupational therapy treatment plans, ensuring they are evidence-based and adhere to clinical governance and risk management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Membership with the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).
• Previous experience in an occupational therapy role, preferably within an educational or paediatric setting.
• Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team and with multiple agencies.
• Advanced clinical reasoning skills and knowledge of a wide range of management approaches for children with additional needs.
• Expertise in managing children with autistic spectrum conditions, sensory needs, and attachment difficulties.
• Experience in using sensory strategies to support children and young people.
• Some understanding of sensory integration.
