Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Location: Papworth Hall School, Cambridgeshire

Salary: up to £53,200 per annum (dependent on experience) plus £2000 Welcome Bonus

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm

Contract: Permanent, 52 weeks per annum

Essential: Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle required

We're looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist, to join our expanding team in a beautiful new School setting. Holding responsibility within specialist services, you will contribute to bespoke assessment and intervention plans for the people we support.

About the role

As a registered practitioner you are personally responsible for your professional practice and maintenance of CPD. You will work closely with your supervisor to create a responsive service in the schools/care homes where you work, and to ensure that wherever possible evidence-based practice is delivered in line with OFG policies and guidelines. As part of the multi-disciplinary team, you will assess and treat individuals within the service, delivering meaningful activity within an individual and group environment. You will be required to do screening and assessment as required, with report writing being supported by your supervisor initially. You may work with an occupational therapy assistant on site to deliver intervention programmes. You may also be required on occasion to support with service provision for other nearby sites.

Who are we looking for? We are looking for a practitioner who has a clear vision of what outstanding therapeutic services look like. We are also looking for someone who is trained in Sensory Integration or part way through this qualification. You would need to demonstrate drive, motivation and resilience, and ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams and build consensus.

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant Occupational Therapy qualification
  • Registered with the HCPC
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience of working with adults and/or children who have an intellectual disability and/or autism with additional needs (eg complex trauma, mental health needs, behaviours of concern)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of key partners
  • Able to work sensitively with people and resolve conflict effectively
  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the setting
  • Substantial and relevant post-qualification experience with adults.
  • Experience of lecturing/teaching/training
  • Full valid UK driving licence and access to a car
  • Skills in the management of data are also important as the role includes collecting and analysing data to inform various pieces of service delivery, development and project work.
